A portrait miniature of a young boy with blue eyes and curling auburn hair. He is wearing a brown jacket and a white chemise. Watercolour in an obal gold frame with blue glass surround, the reverse with silk and a lock of hair. Signed TF.

Additional Information: Frye, Thomas 1710-1762 An Irish artist born in Dublin. He went with Herbert Stoppelaer to London where he painted portraits and miniatures. He exhibited at the Society of Artists 1760-1761. He was a good miniaturist and works by him are scarce. There is a miniature by him in the V & A Museum painted in 1737.
