Item Reference: 5054 A portrait miniature of an officer wearing a red coatee with green facings and gold lace and a gold fringed single epaulette, a white chemise and cravat. Watercolour in an oval silver frame with a reeded edge. Dimensions: Image size 3.75 cm Additional Information: John Ramage 1748-1802 - Dublin born and trained, Ramage went to America in 1775 where he joined the Royal Irish Volunteers and fought for the English in the War of Independence. He is said to have had "an intelligent countenance and lively eye" and to have dressed "beauishly". Price: £1450 |
