Item Reference: 5054 A portrait miniature of an officer in a red coatee with green facings and gold lace, single gold fringed epaulette and a white chemise and cravat. Watercolour in an oval silver frame with reeded edge. Dimensions: Image size 3.75cm Additional Information: John Ramage (1748-1802) - Dublin born and trained, Ramage went to America in 1775 where he joined the Royal Irish Volunteers and fought for the English in the War of Independence. He is said to have had "an intelligent countenance and lively eye" and to have dressed "beauishly". Price: £1450 |
